Earth's Light is a cooperative action-adventure game following the story of four animals and their journey to save their ecosystems, protect their homes, and heal the planet. Fight off garbage monsters plaguing the wetlands, the invasive plants enrapturing the forest, water spirits flooding the plains, and the mechanical chipper robots destroying the Arctic. For this title, we were lucky to be collaborating with the Toronto Zoo, allowing us access to experts and a variety of information on the animals, their environments, and the dangers facing them.
I composed the original soundtrack for the title, which includes adaptive music for each of the four levels, as well as implementing it into the game. I recorded and authored several hundred sound effects for the various characters, abilities, and environments. I also acted as the voice of the narrator, providing an opening and closing to each level to establish context, in addition to narrating the collectable datapads.
With a lack of funding to continue development, the second and third levels (the Woodlands and the Grasslands) never made it into a build, with the Woodlands being prototyped and the adaptive music being written for that level. Due to this, the Grasslands track never made it past the concepting stage.
